Bitcoin Mining May Save The World, Says Kevin O’Leary

“Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary says Bitcoin can help save the planet with renewable & green energy sources.

Kevin O’Leary is a popular TV celebrity, Mr. Wonderful, and businessman who appears as one of the ‘Sharks’ on Shark Tank. Founder of soft goods company SoftKey International Inc., O’Leary is also a cryptocurrency investor and he co-founded O’Shares Investments LLC, which was once described as “The People’s Bitcoin Fund.”

On the last day of the Miami Bitcoin 2022 conference, Kevin O’Leary talked in favor of bitcoin against the questions on bitcoin mining and its environmental impact because of carbon emission. Kevin encouraged bitcoin as a currency while responding to struggles like regulation and social stigma.

Kevin noted that the demands for renewable energy sources are getting higher, and with them so should the need to introduce clean energy. This is something that’s not just happening in our country but across the world.

According to Kevin, Bitcoin miners should choose green or renewable sources of energy because if Bitcoin mining operations rely on traditional sources of energy to operate, they might not have a future. This is because the said operations create a high level of carbon emission during their operation.

The issue of crypto regulation was also brought up in Kevin’s keynote speech. According to him, a lot of money is waiting on regulatory decisions and clarity on crypto assets. If the rules are clear, people will have a lot more confidence in investing their own funds.
