Just like Bitcoin’s Satoshi Nakamoto, Shiba Inu also has an anonymous founder who goes by the alias of Ryoshi. Since launching SHIB in 2020, Ryoshi has successfully maintained secrecy about his identity. Due to Ryoshi’s hard work and zeal, SHIB rose to prominence and started competing with another mega meme coin – DOGE. But unlike capitalists who hog the limelight after seeing success, Ryoshi always maintained a sense of modesty and humbleness. Since the beginning, Ryoshi has told SHIB lovers that he is a nobody and would leave crypto one day. And it seems like that day has finally arrived. Ryoshi has finally bid farewell to the crypto world in his signature ‘understated’ manner.
The announcement has caught many of us off-guard, but surprisingly, even SHIB’s lead developer Shytoshi Kusama had no clue about Ryoshi’s sudden departure.
It is clear that Ryoshi did not want to draw too much attention and, therefore, did not reveal any information even to his team of developers at SHIB. The humbleness and modesty of the famed yet anonymous developer can be gauged from his final quote in which he said:
“I am not important, and one day, I will be gone without notice. Take the SHIBA and journey upwards frens.”
In the past, Ryoshi has claimed that SHIB came into existence as an experimental project, but thanks to the love shown by its fans, the Shiba Inu endeavor has reached unprecedented heights in the crypto world and has become a currency that everyone loves.
If SHIB supporters and Ryoshi fans hoped that they would still have a way to contact the founder, they are bound to experience some disappointment. After the announcement, Ryoshi even deleted all the posts on his Twitter account, leaving his fans high and dry. The account now features a profile pic of Jetsun Milarepa – a yogi who is also a Tibetan poet.
In his parting comments, Ryoshi said that there wouldn’t be any benefit in looking for him once he is gone. He introduced himself as an ordinary guy with no unique or swashbuckling personality traits.
At the time of departure, the SHIB founder has posted two blog posts on the Medium platform, in which he has bid adieu to the ShibArmy – the staunch supporters of SHIB.
Ryoshi’s departure led to a price dip of 4% for the meme currency. Even SHIB’s rival DOGE was down by just over 2%. Although the drop for SHIB hasn’t been substantial, we can expect some transition in the ranks after Ryoshi’s departure.
Notwithstanding the recent situation, SHIB is still the most preferred token and is held by the richest Ethereum whales, who have nearly $1 billion in Shiba Inu cryptocurrency.
Since the world has woken up to cryptocurrencies and blockchain, we have seen many crypto founders who have stayed away from the limelight. When it comes to secrecy, not many come close to Shiba Inu founder Ryoshi. The mysterious SHIB founder has maintained his cover for nearly two years and left the crypto world the same way he entered – in total secrecy. It clearly shows that the crypto world is a far cry from the capitalist world.
Founders and developers in the crypto domain want to do something good for society and don’t even want to take credit for their work. We believe that the world needs more people like Ryoshi and Satoshi Nakamoto. What do you think? Please leave your comments in the section below and let us know your opinion.
