Dave & Buster's Co-Founder James 'Buster' Coley Passes Away in Apparent Suicide

James 'Buster' Coley, co-founder of the popular arcade and restaurant chain Dave & Buster's, has passed away at the age of 72.

Dave & Buster's was first established in Dallas in 1982 by James 'Buster' Coley and David Corriveau.

Coley owned a popular restaurant, while Corriveau owned an adult entertainment venue.

The two noticed that their customers often visited both establishments and decided to join forces, with Corriveau winning a coin toss to have his name listed first in the brand.

Today, Dave & Buster's has over 140 locations worldwide.

A representative for Dave & Buster's described Coley as an innovative and creative force with a pioneering spirit.

They added that he was passionate about hospitality, demanded excellence, and cared deeply for his team members.

Our hearts go out to his family during this difficult time. While we will miss his wise counsel and his easy laugh, the legacy he and Dave built endures.

The police are still investigating the incident, and a formal manner of death has not been announced at this time.
